I once dated a boy who teared me up

He managed to destroy me from the inside out

But I let everything happen

I let him disrespect my boundaries

"All for love" I recall thinking

A love I should have given to myself

A love that I now give to myself

With him, I was the most vulnerable

With him I lost myself

Until I could not recognize who I saw in the mirror

One day I realized that he wouldn't change

And I gathered the strength to walk away
