Hello Nervous Newcomer,

I was in that same scenario and I understand how hard it is to become immersed in city life especially not knowing too many people. Something that helped me so much is starting conversations though I am normally shy. The person next to you, especially as a freshman, is going through the same exact thing. Asking a few questions and asking to get coffee or some food can really help build your confidence and long lasting friendships. Our B.I.A.S. Club has also really helped me make friends quickly and in a judge-free environment.

"Hi Our B.I.A.S.,

I am so nervous to go back in the fall considering I am a freshman and I have not really been to the city. I also don't know too many people living there and all of my friends commute back to their homes while I plan on staying in the dorms. Can you give me some advice?"
